CHIP-8 Emulator
Modern Cross-Platform Emulator
I developed a modern CHIP-8 emulator with a focus on clean architecture and user experience. The project features a complete separation between the emulation core and UI layer, making the core library reusable for other projects.
This CHIP-8 emulator represents my exploration into systems programming and emulation. Built with modern C++17 and Qt, it provides a complete implementation of the CHIP-8 instruction set with a user-friendly interface.
The architecture features a clean separation between the emulation core and the UI layer. The core library handles all emulation logic, memory management, and CPU implementation, while the Qt-based UI provides input handling, display rendering, and audio output.
Key features include configurable CPU speed, keyboard mapping visualization, pause/resume functionality, and support for various CHIP-8 quirks to ensure compatibility with different ROM implementations. The emulator also includes predefined profiles for COSMAC VIP, CHIP-48, and SUPER-CHIP variants.
This project showcases my ability to work with low-level systems programming concepts while maintaining clean, modular code architecture suitable for cross-platform deployment.
